Slightly Nutty Street Photography

     As I was in a Grenoble place called Minimistan, with great wall paints everywhere, I noticed this painting of a girl smoking a cigarette, with eyes shut and smoke rising from her mouth along her face. I was waiting for something else to photograph with, when a very elegant man passed by. And just before I snapped the scene, he gently closed his eyes, showing beautiful eyelids looking alike the girl's ones.

          At first I was attracted by the beautiful starry background of this shop window. Then I noticed, as she noticed me shortly after, the girl sitting in front and waiting for someone. And finally I saw the mannequin, striking the pose from the beginning for me to take her picture.

   A few days before Christmas, people were running  all over the city center to finish their gift shopping.  This frenetic atmosphere disgusted me and I felt the urgent need to find some calmer place. Which I found on the sidewalk in front of a paper shop selling postcards. A woman was alone there, hidden in the middle of the postcard displays, simply and slowly choosing a greeting card.

     The  end of a cold winter afternoon. For me like for this old lady and her little dog, it was time for a short walk. As I followed them in a narrow street, I was struck by the vision of a huge wall painting whose hand seemed to  be trying to grab  both the dog and its mistress.
