La Vénus de Milo. Grenoble, 2023.

Image
There she standed, in the empty shop window of a mall (called la caserne de Bonne). Without her pagne (and her right shoulder), this modern version of the famous statue disdainfully looked away from the street. Which probably attracted the eye of a seduced passerby.

Two tired friends. Grenoble, 2023.

These two guys were sitting at the terrace of a coffee as I walked towards them. The first thing I noticed was the dog, lying at the bottom of a trolley. Then his master, looking tired as well. As the man blew his nose and then dried some tears, I decided to take the picture of them both resting.

Early Happy Hour. Noirétable, 2023.

Returning from vacation with my wife and kids in the middle of August, we stopped in the little village of Noirétable (Auvergne). For already three days the place was crowded by people came to join a country fair and see brass bands playing joyful music in its streets. It was very hot and the beer was flowing freely everywhere. Some thirsty parents were hiding a little from their kids, like the dad with the hat (behind his daughter) on the picture.

Un ange passe. Freiburg, 2019.

Image
In the entrance hall of Freiburg's cathedral, this silent couple was getting some rest around noon. Maybe the man had just started to look on his phone for a romantic place where to have lunch. Then he possibly got caught by some e-mails to be answered. The woman felt a bit abandoned and her mind started to wander, which made me take this picture. Maybe she was thinking of a lover, eagerly waiting for her. Admittedly though, all this story is pretty hypothetical.
